Ambos , artistas de muy diferente índole pero con el mismo objetivo de hacer del mundo un lugar más bonito. Desde que abrieron su propio taller Zinzentido en Málaga, el cartón prensado ha sido su mayor aliado, (ya que además de más bonito, desean un mundo más sostenible)  y la propia naturaleza, el cine o el arte oriental, sus fuentes de inspiración. 

Este dúo nos dan a conocer cómo dos personas con cualidades muy diferentes, que no opuestas, funcionan en su pequeño laboratorio.

May (Málaga): Desde muy joven soy DJ en mi ciudad, lo cual me ha llevado a conocer una variedad de profesionales del sonido y la decoración (trabajando con ellos para la puesta en marcha de proyectos), en salas, bares. Incluso a tener una tienda de vinilos de música electrónica. Eso hizo que me interesara por todo lo visual y sonoro.

Delia (Málaga): De pequeña he visto trabajar con las manos, a mi padre como artesano de la madera y pintor, a mi madre cosiendo. Creo que mi pasión de trabajar con las manos se las debo a ellos. Como mis padres, siempre he sido autodidacta. Desde que conocí a May mi pareja, le he ayudado con sus proyectos artísticos. Juntos nos compenetramos de lujo a la hora de trabajar ya que cada uno tenemos cualidades muy diferentes que al unirse son un todo.

Nuestro primer proyecto juntos fue un taller pequeño en el centro de nuestra ciudad, en el que creamos una variedad de piezas decorativas. Fue una especie de laboratorio  en el que experimentamos con diferentes materiales. Nuestra intención fue crear una serie de piezas únicas para la ambientación de espacios alternativos fuera del círculo convencional.

Nuestro trabajo empieza con bocetos o una imagen que nos llama la atención. A partir de ese momento empieza un proceso de estudio del soporte en el cual lo vamos a realizar.

Cuando creamos nuestra marca Zinzentido nos centramos en trabajar con el DM ( cartón presado ). Una vez decidido el diseño se dibuja, May le da la forma y el acabado para el siguiente paso que es pintarlo el cual lo realiza Delia.

El año pasado terminamos un ciclo de talla artística en madera y actualmente nos encontramos estudiando un grado superior de cerámica artística en la escuela de Arte San Telmo, con unos profesores excepcionales.

Estamos conociendo un material diferente (la arcilla )  el cual nos apasiona, intentando abrir  otros campos creativos.

Uno de los trabajos más laborioso que hemos realizado juntos, ha sido el dragón de Suliman.

La cultura japonesa nos encanta y sobretodo su animación centrándonos mucho en el Studio Ghibli, también nos gusta la simbología oriental y todo lo relacionado con el arte callejero. Actualmente estamos  conociendo a través de nuestros profesores, una diversidad de artistas, escultores, ceramistas, pintores…

May es sereno, constante, creativo.

Delia es paciente, metódica, perfeccionista.

Para relajarse, May: juega con sus cacharros electrónicos (poner música) y yo, hago deporte, juego con mis sobrinas, escucho música o me doy un baño.

ZINTENDO: WITH LOVE AND FEELINGS

Those who would run far away from the idea of working with your partner, is just because they  do not know Delia and May. Both artists of a very different nature but with the same goal of making the world a more beautiful place. Since opening Zinzentido, its own workshop in Malaga, DM has been their greatest ally (as well as more beautiful, they want a more sustainable world) and nature, cinema and Oriental art, his sources of inspiration.
This duo give us to know how two people with different but not opposed opposite qualities,  work in its own laboratory.

May (Malaga):
From a young age I am a DJ in my city, which has led me to meet a variety of sound and decoration professionals (working with them for the implementation of different projects), in halls, bars. Even to have an electronic music vinyls store.
That made me interested in all visuals and sound.

Delia (Málaga):
Since child I have been sorrounded by people working with its hands.  My father as wood craftsman and painter and my mother as a sewer. I think I owe them my passion for working with my hands. Like my parents, I have always been self-taught.
Since I met May, my partner, I have helped him with his art projects. We work really good together  as we have very different skills that are one when joining.

Our first project together was a small workshop in the center of our city, where we created a variety of decorative pieces. It was a kind of laboratory in which we experimented with different materials. Our intention was to create a series of unique pieces for the setting of alternative spaces outside the conventional circle.

Our work begins with sketches or an image that calls our attention. From that moment begins a process of study of the format in which we will do it.
When we created our brand Zinzentido we were focused on working with the DM. Once decided the design, May gives it the shape and  and the next step which is to paint is done by Delia.

Last year we finished a cycle of artistic wood carving and we are currently studying a higher degree of artistic ceramics in the San Telmo Art School with exceptional teachers.
We are getting to know a different material (clay) l which excites us, trying to open other creative fields.

One of the most laborious works we have done together has been the Suliman dragon

We love Japanese culture and especially its animation giving our focus at Studio Ghibli, we also like the eastern symbolism and everything related to street art. We are currently meeting through our teachers, a variety of artists, sculptors, ceramists, painters …

Our favourite characters?  James Brown (May) and  Nelson Mandela (Delia).

And our favourite songs: “Coup de Geule” of Tiken Jah Fakoly and “Como sabes” de Miguel  Campello.

May is serene, incessant, creative.
