THE ORIGINAL STYLE OF ANDREW HEM
Andrew Hem’s work has an original style, he´s an artist borned in Thailand, with Cambodian parents and who grew in Los Angeles. He has been painting professionally for about 8 years now. “It’s the only thing that I am passionate about and the only thing I feel like I’m good at”, says.
He explains to us that he doesn´t really have a lock down work method: “I feel like if I do then it would become routine and I cant stand doing the same thing everyday”.
About his projects, he says right now, he is just trying to get better, being “forever a student”.
The hardest thing he has ever done regarding his work was paint a 20 foots painting just using a ladder. “Using spray paint on a ladder is easy but holding a palette and a brush and trying to stay balance on a ladder is something I would not do again”, express.
What inspires him to develop his ideas is traveling and meeting people. His favourite historical figures are Van Gogh, Bruce Lee and Alexander Mcqeen.
When we ask him about his favourite music he answers Have you ever seen the rain by Creedence clearwater revival and says that right now, he is in love with Ramen and Pho.
