{english below} “El arte nos da la libertad para expresarnos y crear”, dice Rogerio Pedro, un artista brasileño que vive en Campinas, una ciudad a 50 kilómetros de São Paulo (Brasil). Comenzó a dibujar en las paredes de su casa cuando era un niño, aprendió a pintar practicando arte urbano en 1989 y se graduó en Bellas Artes por la universidad PUC Campinas – SP. Actualmente se dedica a desarrollar distintos proyectos en el campo de las artes visuales, creando murales, pinturas sobre lienzos y arte digital.
Según explica, su trabajo viene de las experiencias y de la investigación personal en varios medios, especialmente Internet, mientras busca referencias en la pintura, la fotografía y el diseño gráfico.
Sobre lo más complicado que ha hecho, dice que: “el mayor desafío lo suelo encontrar en los murales porque siempre tienen diferentes alturas y tamaños. Tienes que planearlo y organizarte para que el dibujo funcione en la pared; a veces pinto en ciudades donde ni siquiera tenemos el material y el equipo que necesitamos, hay que montar andamios para trabajar a mucha altura”.
Todo es una inspiración para él: la música, las películas, los tebeos, pasear… y también lo inspiran otros artistas: pintores brasileños como Portinari, Di Cavalcanti y artistas contemporáneos como Speto o Aryz, entre muchos otros.
Le gusta todo el rock brasileño en general, y la música que no se va de su cabeza últimamente es ‘Happy’, de Pharrell Williams. Le encanta comer arroz, con judías y filete (plato brasileño) y hamburguesas. Su talento secreto es aprender a diario. Y su manera favorita de desconectar de la rutina después de un día ocupado es beber cerveza con sus amigos.

“The art gives us freedom to expression and creation”, says Rogerio Pedro, a Brazilian artist who lives in Campinas, a town 50 km from São Paulo (Brazil). Everything is an inspiration for him: Music, movies, comics, cartoons, travel… Also, Many artists inspire him: Brazilian painters like Portinari, Di Cavalcanti and contemporary artists such as Speto, Aryz among many others.
He likes Brazilian rock in general. The music that gets stuck in his head is currently the Happy – Pharrell Williams. He likes rice, beans and steak (Brazilian food ) and Burger. His secret talent is learn every day. And his favourite way to get away from the routine after a busy day working is drinking beer with friends.
