Interview with Pilar O’Connor. Moments Festival 2025
As part of Moments Festival 2025 (Málaga), we sat down with Pilar Pagán O’Connor on the occasion of the opening of her exhibition “Concrete Kisses” at Nika Art Gallery (15 november) — a deeply personal and tactile series that reflects the artist’s experiences, communities, and creative explorations during her time living and working in Barcelona.
In this conversation, Pilar shares her thoughts on the origins of Concrete Kisses, the emotional and physical processes behind her textile practice, and the way felt, color, and texture become vessels for memory, identity, and play. Concrete Kisses is, at its core, a love letter to the subcultures, friendships, sports, and everyday spaces that shaped her sense of belonging — a celebration of movement, intuition, and the freedom to exist fully.
